Prime Minister bans parades in Singapore

Gay pride parades are banned in Singapore because they could offend conservatives in the country, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said. Though the government has made some concessions to the gay community in recent years, homosexuality remains illegal there, and the government has previously outlawed some gay events.
