L.A. Times publisher out, Chicago Tribune exec takes over

Jeffrey Johnson, publisher of the Los Angeles Times, was forced to resign yesterday by the paper's parent, Tribune Co., which installed David Hiller, CEO of the Chicago Tribune, in his place. Johnson, along with Times editor Dean Baquet, last month caused a stir in the media world for defying the company's call for further layoffs.
