Paulson confidant will head rescue plan's implementation

Neel Kashkari, an assistant secretary of international affairs in the Treasury Department, will oversee the implementation of the $700 billion rescue plan Congress approved last week. Kashkari is a close adviser to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and a former Goldman Sachs banker. He will run the program on an interim basis until a permanent director is chosen.
