Architect Mayne designs floating house in New Orleans

A renowned architect took a novel approach to rebuilding homes in New Orleans through the Make It Right Foundation. Thom Mayne, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, redesigned a house to float on vertical guideposts in case of flooding. "We rethought the idea of a house in terms of the potential conditions of the flooding that took place in Katrina," Mayne said.
