Shell eyes increased production of natural gas in North America

Royal Dutch Shell intends to raise its natural gas output in North America, said Marvin Odum, who heads the company's U.S. division. Shell thinks that long-term gas prices will bounce back despite the current slump, supporting its interest, Odum said. The production increase would come from Shell's deepwater finds in the Gulf of Mexico and from large shale formations in Canada and in the U.S., he said.
