Teacher uses singing to help students retain information longer

An elementary-school teacher is using music and singing to help her students grasp science lessons and terms -- a practice she said helps students retain information longer. The method has been so successful that Debra Cave has created a CD/DVD of the lessons that has been ordered by educators in more than 30 states. "It's hard to get excited about chlorophyll," the fourth-grade teacher said. "But by singing and dancing, emotion gets attached, and it's stored long term."
