Utah highway safety project nears completion

Utah has spent nearly $160 million to make a section of U.S. Highway 6 safer over the last decade. The state is nearly finished with the project, which included converting 28 miles of the road into a four-lane highway and straightening some of the tight canyon curves. Also, a 12-mile stretch now has three lanes. Most of the work on the project will be finished by next summer, officials said.
