Washington researchers get $16M in ARRA funding

Researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and the University of Washington Schools of Public Health and Pharmacy will use $16 million in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for four research initiatives. One of the projects will focus on the development of tissue-based biomarkers, and another will study the effectiveness of cancer diagnostics, including PET/CT imaging, in disease mapping and treatment planning.
