Heightened propane demand has knock-on effect on naphtha market

With propane proving increasingly popular as a domestic heating fuel, Europe's petrochemical companies have been switching to cheaper naphtha as a feedstock for the plastics-manufacturing processes. Propane has been trading at a premium to naphtha since early September despite having been markedly cheaper as recently as mid-June. Regional demand for naphtha has been high ahead of the northern hemisphere's winter months.
