Analysts speculate about a possible AMR Chapter 11 filing

Although some analysts monitoring the situation of AMR, parent company of American Airlines, don't believe the company will seek bankruptcy protection, others say the move is inevitable and would possibly be beneficial for the industry. The restructuring afforded under bankruptcy protection would enable AMR to seek consolidation, which might empower the industry through greater synergies and lower costs, this article says.
