Maryland has completed construction of a fiber-optic network that cost $160 million, with most of the funding coming from federal sources, Arthur Hirsch writes. "For us this is a big day, for being able to fulfill our mission of working with Internet service providers across the state to service unserved or underserved areas," said Tyler Patton, a spokesman for the Maryland Broadband Cooperative.
