Analysts predict tax code will be adjusted by a 1.6% inflation rate for 2014

The Internal Revenue Service is not releasing its inflation-adjusted numbers for the tax code affecting individuals in 2014 until later this year. But estimates by two analysts forecast the official inflation rate that will be used to adjust the tax code will be 1.6%. They expect the lifetime gift- and estate-tax exemption to rise to $5.34 million per person in 2014.
