Charity turns donkeys into ambulances for remote Afghan villages

Scavenged parts of inflatable camping cushions, an air bed and a pool lounger have been assembled into an inflatable saddle that transforms a donkey into an ambulance to carry pregnant women to the hospital for safe delivery of their babies. The U.K. charity HealthProm and designer Peter Muckle collaborated on the project to address the inaccessibility of Afghan villages, where many women choose to give birth at home rather than risk a jarring journey to a hospital.
