Apple and Samsung Electronics picked up market share while rivals HTC, Motorola and LG either lost ground or remained flat in comScore's latest quarterly consumer survey from August. Apple picked up 1.5 percentage points to reach a 40.7% share while Samsung gained 1.3 points to 24.3%. On the operating system side, Apple's iOS platform, which had recently been losing ground to Google's Android, gained 2.3 points on its rival although Android still leads 51.6% to 40.7%. BlackBerry slipped to a 4.0% share while Microsoft's Windows Phone software inched up to 3.2%.
