Fast, low-cost small cells on Verizon's wish list?

Verizon Wireless is on the hunt for speedy but inexpensive small-cell technology, a top executive at Zayo Group told a conference devoted to telecom networking. David Howson, Zayo's sales and customer management chief, referred to a woman -- presumably Verizon's Nicola Palmer -- in conveying a conversation with a top carrier's chief technology officer. In a panel on mobile backhaul, Howson said, "We still have lots of figuring out to do in terms of how exactly how this will play out." Zayo sells fiber and other broadband network hardware and services.
