Mich. veterinarian investigating mysterious infections

Michigan veterinarian Lindsay Ruland says she's treated hundreds of dogs with symptoms similar to those seen in the mystery illness that has surfaced in some Ohio dogs, which has been linked to canine circovirus. Although two Michigan dogs were confirmed to have circovirus at the time they died, both dogs had concurrent infections, according to the Diagnostic Center for Population and Animal Health. Dr. Ruland is funding further testing on some of the dogs she treated to try to pinpoint the cause of the illness.
