Report: Motorola seeks compensation for failed PalmSource bid

Motorola reportedly has asked a federal judge to order PalmSource to pay an $8.7 million termination fee as compensation for backing out of an agreement to be acquired by Motorola. According to Motorola, PalmSource accepted its $17.25 per share offer, but then reneged when it got an offer worth $18.50 a share from Japan's Access Co.
