Researchers: New class of inhibitor drugs may cause heart problems

PDE-4 inhibitors being developed by several drugmakers for treating respiratory ailments are showing in studies of mice a possible increased risk of heart failure and arrhythmias, researchers report. The inhibitors are part of a class of drugs that companies have looked to for treating several ailments, including asthma and Alzheimer's disease.
