Plastic bottle campaigns hit bottled water makers

Calls for consumers to stop purchasing bottled water have contributed to the decline in growth of bottled drinks sales from 16% in 2006 to 9% this year, according to a Beverage Digest report. Major beverage companies such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Nestle have taken steps to address this issue, including re-engineering bottles and introducing recycling programs.
