Alaskan study to focus on oil and gas infrastructure

A $5 million study on the risks of Alaska's aging oil and gas infrastructure will begin this fall. Recently, a high-pressure natural-gas pipeline at Prudhoe Bay exploded and corroded oil pipes caused two spills in 2006. The study will be conducted by two consulting firms, but some are concerned they will not spend enough time in the field to get an actual take on the problems.
