Botswana education minister wants more school governance

Botswana's minister of education, Jacob Nkate, wants teachers and parents to help launch a programme he hopes will curb the rise in discipline problems, teen pregnancy and vandalism in the country's schools. The Pastoral Policy focuses on leadership and management, academic performance, discipline, guidance and counseling, stakeholder involvement and core-curricular activities, and Nkate said these elements will enhance academic performance.
