Cylindrical solar cells designed for flat roofs

Innovative cylindrical solar energy panels are designed for flat roofs, and do not have to be angled towards the sun's rays during installation. "With a cylinder, we are collecting light from all angles, even collecting diffuse light," said Chris Gronet, CEO at California-based Solyndra. The company estimates the cylindrical panels convert as much as 14% of the sunlight that hits them to electricity.
