Big hurricane could leave Florida's P/C insurers insolvent

Florida insurance commissioner Kevin McCarty told the state Senate Banking and Insurance Committee that some property/casualty insurers could suffer insolvency in the event a catastrophic storm hits the state. Florida continues to be the "epicenter in terms of concentration of risk" as the state faces $2.1 trillion in property insurance liability, he said.
