The Florida Marlins' Miami stadium will include a retractable roof comprised of 8,000 tons of steel when it is completed in 2012. Canam Group won the $60 million contract to help design the roof and build its parts. The company has experience with a number of complex construction projects, but the Marlins stadium will be its first retractable roof construction project. Company officials say they have devoted hundreds of engineers to designing the roof.
