How to lift morale when times are tough

NFIB's most recent membership report indicated that small companies on average lost an employee each of the past three months; so, there is good reason for staff morale to be low. Human resources consultants recommend that business owners try to relieve anxiety by letting employees know how the business is doing, asking for their ideas, letting them vent, offering performance benefits and celebrating successes.
