Some Republicans outside Washington support Obama's health plan

U.S. President Barack Obama is turning to Republicans outside Washington, D.C., for public endorsement of his health care overhaul because he has been unable to get support from Republicans on Capitol Hill. The White House distributed a statement from California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger saying he supports many of Obama's goals. Other public statements came from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson.
