Turkey-Armenia friendship pact not without wrinkles

Supporters of a pact between Turkey and Armenia are hopeful Armenia will sign a friendship pact between the historic enemies now that Turkey has dropped a precondition that Armenia and Azerbaijan make progress toward resolving a territorial conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says he cannot guarantee the Turkish parliament will endorse the pact, while Turkish officials say it will in any case take longer than the three months provided by the pact to open the border.
