Detroit finances school projects with $210M bond sale

Detroit Public Schools has issued $210 million in bonds to finance the remaining construction and repairs on 18 schools, a project slated to cost more than $500 million. The bonds include $160.9 million in Qualified School Construction Bonds and $49.6 million in Build America Bonds, low-interest bonds authorized under last year's stimulus bill.
