Former pilot in close race for Oberstar seat

Rep. James Oberstar, the Minnesota Democrat who leads the charge on aviation policy in the House of Representatives, appears to be facing the most serious political challenge of his career -- from a former Northwest Airlines pilot and ALPA officer. GOP nominee Chip Cravaack, who flew for Northwest between 1990 and 2007, has released a poll showing he trails the 36-year incumbent by just 3 percentage points. Oberstar has questioned the validity of the polling results.
