Severe hypoglycemia poses risks for Type 2 diabetes patients

Patients with Type 2 diabetes who had episodes of severe hypoglycemia were 3.5 times as likely as counterparts who didn't have dangerously low blood sugar to have a heart attack or stroke and 2.2 times as likely to develop complications such as kidney disease, a study of 11,140 patients showed. The hypoglycemia group also had more than a threefold increased risk for death from any cause.
