West Virginia sues EPA, Obama over clean water rules

West Virginia's environmental agency is challenging proposed Clean Water Act rules by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in a lawsuit against the EPA and Obama administration. "Over the past year and a half, we have been fighting President Obama's administration's attempts to destroy our coal industry and way of life in West Virginia," said Gov. Joe Manchin, a Democrat. Since spring, the EPA has instituted new guidelines for companies seeking Clean Water Act permits for proposed surface coal mines.
