About.me social media site grows quickly with personal profiles

Visual self-promotion seems to be the draw behind social media site About.me. The young site, which lets users create and promote their profile page and monitor the results, is catching on quickly, with more than a million registered users in 250 days. "At this stage, we've grown faster than Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in terms of new users in our first year," says co-founder Tony Conrad.
