Congressional committee OKs wild herd expansion

The U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources approved a measure to allow a wild horse herd that roams the Currituck National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia to expand to between 120 and 130 animals. A local agreement caps the herd at 60, but recent counts reveal the group has grown to more than 140 and some say larger herds improve genetic health.
