Denny's is using augmented reality as it teams with Warner Bros. to promote "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug." The effort includes AR-enabled place mats and a mobile-optimized website to go with them, allowing diners to scan the mats for a video presentation and a Hobbit-related contest to be named Middle Earth's greatest fan.
