Docs approach public exchange plans with caution, concern

Medical practices remain cautious and divided on participation in the Affordable Care Act health insurance exchanges that debuted last week, according to a survey by the Medical Group Management Association. More than 40% of respondents said they are still evaluating whether to participate, while about 30% said they will do so, 14% said they won't, and 16% said they were unsure. In addition, 80% of respondents expressed concern over how much they would be paid through exchange-based plans. More than 1,000 group practices were represented in the survey.
