Frequency of severe C. diff in children increasing, study finds

Serious Clostridium difficile infections are becoming more frequent among children, and complications are common, researchers from Texas Children's Hospital in Houston report. The study, which found a substantial number of cases were community-associated disease, showed CDI mainly affects children with underlying medical conditions and can lead to ICU admission, surgery and death.
