Green roof springs atop building on Ohio college campus

A 12,000-square-foot green roof has been installed -- finally -- on Howlett Hall at Ohio State University. The hall, built 46 years ago, was designed to have a green roof, but there wasn't enough money. The new rooftop garden is expected to capture about 191,000 gallons of stormwater runoff each year, and save about $10,000 on annual heating and cooling costs.
