Planned Amazon set-top device would take streaming provision to a new level

Amazon reportedly is preparing to introduce a set-top, video-streaming device that would hit stores before the end of the year. The device, which reportedly is similar to a Roku box, would stream applications and content for Amazon's Prime subscription video service and other programmers, making it the first major player to offer both streaming content and the hardware to view it.
