Same-sex couples may have some new retirement planning to do

The Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Labor Department have revised their rules applicable to same-sex married couples with 401(k) savings plans and IRAs, following the Supreme Court's ruling declaring some parts of the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional. That calls for some new retirement-planning work on the part of same-sex couples who want to take full advantage of the revised rules, Kelly Greene writes.
