Same-sex couples may have some new retirement planning to do

The Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor have revised their rules applicable to same-sex married couples with 401(k) savings plans and Individual Retirement Accounts, following the Supreme Court's ruling declaring some parts of the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional. That calls for some new retirement planning work on the part of same-sex couples who want to take full advantage of the revised rules, writes Kelly Greene.
