Sept. brings slower sales growth for UK retailers

UK retail sales rose 2.4% in September from the same month last year, the second-smallest increase this year, as consumers tightened spending on food and warm weather slowed purchases of fall fashions, according to the British Retail Consortium. Online retail sales proved a bright spot, with 13.4% growth for online sales of non-food items.
