Study: More than 33,000 new natural gas wells are in Texas

More than 33,000 natural gas wells have been drilled in Texas since 2005, with 13,540 new wells drilled last year alone, according to a study. More than 110 billion gallons of water has been used for hydraulic fracturing in Texas since 2005, more than triple the amount of any other state, the study found.
