Tall tunnels found underneath Antarctic ice shelf

Researchers discovered massive channels, some reaching as high as 820 feet, beneath the Flichner-Ronne Ice Shelf in Antarctica. Using satellite photos and radar from a plane flying over the shelf, British scientists found that certain features on the surface of the ice corresponded to the channels deep below, according to a paper published in the journal Nature Geoscience.
