Wis. district boosts use of local foods

A Wisconsin school district is purchasing between 15% and 20% of cafeteria food from local farms as part of a farm-to-school program that has been in place for three years. "We're finding ways to use local potatoes, local carrots," Foodservices Director Jesse Padron said, adding, "You can make roasted potatoes rather than frozen fries or fresh mashed potatoes rather than starting with dried."
