Feds refuse call for cell phone wiring in Big Dig tunnels

Federal officials have denied approval for a plan to install wiring in Big Dig tunnels in Boston to allow for wireless cell phone service. Officials say the wiring could put too much weight on the tunnel walls, and until a solution is found, the tunnels remain a dead zone for cell phone service.
