Health info exchanges get HHS contracts

Nine health information exchanges have received contracts from the HHS worth $22.5 million for trial implementations of the Nationwide Health Information Network. The contracts represent a significant milestone toward the Bush administration's goal of wide adoption for electronic health records in the U.S. by 2014, an HHS official said.
