County votes against expansion of Myrtle Beach airport

The Horry County Council voted against expansion of the passenger terminal at the Myrtle Beach International Airport, but granted approval for an environmental study stipend. M.B. Kahn Construction Co. presented two terminal designs that would add five gates to the airport. The council voted for the least expensive version, but it failed to pass as a budget amendment.
