Comcast to test waters as security provider

Comcast is rolling out a security service in Denver to notify its Internet customers via a browser message when their computers may be infected with a virus. Comcast, which is reportedly the first service provider to offer security warnings in the browser, collects data on viruses from research firms that track infected IP addresses, spam, denial-of-service attacks and other malicious online activity.
