Expert urges innovation, cooperation to fix infrastructure

Highway tolls and public-private partnerships could help support the nation's efforts to repair its aging highway infrastructure, said Bradley Mallory, CEO of Michael Baker Corp. Mallory, a former Pennsylvania transportation official, said available funding is not sufficient to repair deteriorating infrastructure. However, he noted that regional planning groups have the ability to encourage cooperation and that local funding could help ensure that projects are efficient and completed properly.
