Hospital system uses genetic test for Plavix response

Hospital system Scripps Health is using Quest Diagnostics' saliva test that screens for four genetic mutations found in patients who don't respond to Plavix, a blood thinner from Bristol-Myers Squibb and Sanofi-Aventis. Quest said the product yields results more quickly than others, and it plans to launch the test nationally later this month.
